Back to school party

Last night we had a party for grad students in my department. It was nice to see a few good friends that I hadn't seen all summer, but I stayed too long (til almost 3 a.m.). Sometimes when I'm at these parties for hours, I get sort of petulant and willfully obnoxious. I think it's my little way of acting out because I don't quite fit in with this group.

My birthday is on Tuesday. I'm still trying to decide how to celebrate, but the plans will definitely involve my two best friends in the city. I might also do something small with my anthropologist friends. Birthdays are important to me, but I'm easy to please -- I just want to spend time with good friends.
